communications team is made up of curious, smart, quick-witted and talented people. Frontdoor is an exceptional company because we hire exceptional individuals, and we’re looking for a rock-star intern to join our Corporate Communications team this summer.

What to Expect:

  • A 10-week paid internship where you will work with a high-energy team that’s responsible for corporate messaging, media relations, corporate events, and much more. The internship will allow you to gain real-world experience you won’t find in the classroom by leading and contributing to projects from start to finish.

Where You Will Work:

  • The internship is based in downtown Memphis, Tenn. at the company’s headquarters.

What does our department do?

  • The Corporate Communications team focuses on internal and external communications, and community relations. We also manage the corporate website and the employee intranet.
  • We tell the story of Frontdoor and its brands, in partnership with our creative, social and marketing teams.
  • Our interns have the opportunity to learn about writing, editing, production, event planning, and more.

What will you be doing?

  • Write and edit internal and external communications, including media alerts and pitches, company announcements, feature stories, plus other storytelling opportunities.
  • Post content to our intranet, and help drive and monitor engagement.
  • Help coordinate special events and programs for employees.
  • Monitor and summarize media coverage across online, broadcast and print resources.
  • Develop and update media lists.
  • Interact with leaders and others from across the business, including vendors, and gaining exposure to how things work


Requirements:

  • An undergraduate student (junior or senior) or graduate student who is currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copy editing skills. Experience writing for different formats with different styles (formal, conversational, comedy, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of AP Style.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word. PowerPoint, Excel).
  • GPA of 3.0 and above
  • Available for a 10-week internship in Summer 2019
  • Available to work 40 hours per week

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous internship experience
  • Writing samples of your published content

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change while
    maintaining a positive attitude.
  • A self-starter who creates personal and professional stretch goals and meets them.
  • Works well with others in a highly collaborative environment and builds trust with the team.
  • Curiosity and ability to think creatively.
  • A great sense of humor and the ability to multi-task with ease.
